Volkswagen has displayed the refreshed Golf range at the New York Auto Show. The entire Golf family gets styling, technology and driver assistance updates.
One of the changes is the updated exterior design, which features sharper lines complemented with new bumpers and a new grille. The new LED taillights and daytime Run Lights now come standard. Body colors and wheel designs are also updated. Interior updates include new trim panels as well as new infotainment systems, which now feature larger, crisper touchscreens. Driver assistance systems has been also updated and now include forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking (available on most SE trims and above), as is Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert. The updated version of front assist now includes pedestrian monitoring, lane departure warning, park distance control, adaptive cruise control, parking steering assistant, and high beam control are also available on some models.
New Golf powered by the 1.8L TSI petrol engine that delivers 170 HP (126 KW) and 269 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission ( DSG). Also, 2.0 TDI with 150 and 190 HP and 1.6 TDI with 110HP
The 2018 GTI features a power upgrade 2.0 TSI four-cylinder turbo now makes a standard 220 HP with a six-speed DSG automatic transmission or a six-speed manual.
